Watch the map on this site. It is similar to the one above
When a country darkens on the map, it represents a death from hunger.
The vast majority of hungry people live in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.
Hiroji Kubota is a photojournalist who traveled throughout South Asia to take pictures of how people get the food that they need to survive. Many of the people that he photographed had to labor long hours doing very hard work to even earn a tiny portion of the daily food they need for themselves and their families. Others had to scavenge and beg for a living.
Reasons
for Hunger:
·
Exploding populations
·
Water shortages
·
Pollution
·
Environmental destruction
·
Illiteracy
·
Food shortages
·
