Some Ideas for Creating “Talking Books with Students.
Students read/narrate talking books they are able to read fluently
They record their voice reading each page/slide of the PowerPoint Talking book. Slides for each page of the talking book are scanned into PowerPoint.
Students draw a self portrait. The self portrait is used to create a “CrazyTalk” avatar. The avatar is then used to “read” the book.
A digital photo of the student is used to create a CrazyTalk” avatar. The avatar is then used to “read” the book.
Students write their own talking books
Using PowerPoint students create a slide for each page of their talking book. They may either illustrate their book pages on paper and scan the images (or draw on the computer using MS Paint) and then insert pictures on the slides. They type the text for each page.
PowerTalk may be used to read the talking book, or students may create avatars to read or narrate their books (see above)
Use the PowerPoint Talking Book template.
Follow instructions previously provided.
