Internet Fraud
Many legitimate companies and charities conduct business on the internet. Unfortunately internet fraud is increasing. People need to know who they are dealing with online, as well as making sure that sites they use to purchase items or exchange financial information with are trusted and secure before giving out any information such as credit card numbers, or other financial or personal information.
What is Internet Fraud?
The ability to save information digitally is both a blessing and a curse. Information about people is stored in databases on computers everywhere. If these computers are not secure, the probability that the information can fall into the wrong hands increases. So, it is not only important that you observe internet safety to protect yourself, but also that others do as well.
Remember: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
